Foundever™ and Libraries Without Borders: Around the world in 30 days

For the second consecutive year, Foundever launches its global challenge inspired by Jules Verne’s adventure novel: cover the distance of a tour around the globe within a month. The aim is to discover the beauty of our planet and give back to under-resourced communities.

What is the “Around the world in 30 days” global challenge?

This July, we’re going around the world for the second consecutive year. Inspired by Jules Verne’s adventure novel “Around the World in Eighty Days,” this challenge has the double objective to encourage associates to be well and do good for the planet and under-resourced communities.

We want to encourage all our associates to run, walk and cycle as much as possible during the month of July. The perk — the more ground we cover, the more Foundever pledges to donate to Libraries Without Borders, an NGO we have been supporting since 2022, up to $10,000 if the objective of the challenge is completed.

Commitment to the planet

The challenge aims to raise awareness on environmental issues. It encourages our associates to use non-polluting means of transport and walk or cycle instead of taking their cars. To motivate them, we offer a very special treat. Each time we reach an intermediary goal we’ll uncover a beautiful yet endangered spot of the globe that we’ll explore together — virtually of course.

Commitment to the community

The second objective is to share with less advantaged communities and help bring knowledge and education to those who need it. We’ve been partnering with Libraries Without Borders (Bibliothèques Sans Frontières) for over a year now, supporting different projects and organizing a company-wide book drive. Following last year’s “Around the world in 30 days” global challenge Foundever donated $10,000. This helped the NGO deploy its signature multimedia community centers near the Ukrainian border to welcome and inform refugees fleeing the war still going on in the region.

This year, we hope to once again complete the challenge. The money will be used to support four important projects initiated by Libraries Without Borders, in Bangladesh, Senegal, Ukraine and Puerto Rico. Click on the images to learn more about the projets!

Commitment to the employee experience

Last but certainly not least, the initiative also aims to promote our associates’ wellbeing. At Foundever, we care for the physical and mental health of our associates. That’s why the challenge includes our EverBetter program that’s designed to promote physical and mental health as well as social engagement. The more new members who join the program, the more money Foundever pledges to donate.

Every associate in any Foundever location around the world can help complete the challenge!

About Libraries Without Borders

Since 2007, Bibliothèques Sans Frontières (Libraries Without Borders) has worked to bring knowledge and information to people in need. The organization provides access and resources that connect people to books and digital resources, expanding the reach of libraries, training facilitators in post-emergency situations, and addressing the needs of under-resourced communities. From laundromats in Oakland, California, to refugee camps in Bangladesh, Libraries Without Borders brings tools to reduce inequality of access to information and knowledge.
